Title 24 Acceptance Testing & Electrical

California's Title 24 energy code requires mechanical systems to be acceptance-tested and documented before a project can close out. Controls of Things is a registered Acceptance Test Employer for mechanical acceptance testing, which means the same team that engineers and commissions your building automation system can also certify that it performs.

Mechanical Acceptance Testing

Controls of Things is certified by RSES as a Mechanical Acceptance Testing Technician (MATT) and registered as a Mechanical Acceptance Testing Employer (MATE), certification #2026023, current through June 2027.

We are approved to perform five NRCA-MCH acceptance test forms: NRCA-MCH-02, 03, 04, 05, and 12.

Acceptance testing is offered across six counties: San Diego, Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino.

Mechanical acceptance testing verifies that a building's HVAC controls actually do what the sequence of operations says they do. Because we write and commission those sequences, we know where systems typically fail the test, and we can correct the underlying control issue rather than simply reporting the failure.

Our C-7 Low Voltage and C-10 Electrical licenses exist to serve the automation work: the control wiring, network infrastructure, and power that automation projects depend on, self-performed under one license rather than subcontracted out and coordinated across trades.
